I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg, “Fire on the Rappahannock”. I am honored to be the Confederate Commander for this event.
Our goal is to make your reenacting experience one you will treasure. We are confident that you will be stepping back in time to December 1862, and you will experience the anxieties that your ancestors did – enduring the cold of December, coming face to face with the enemy as you fight from house to house and street to street, and wondering if you will survive the ordeal!
In order to make the most of your experience, I would recommend that you read some battle accounts on the Battle of Fredericksburg – perhaps you have an ancestor who was at Fredericksburg. Try doing a first-person impression. The more you know about the history, the better you will be able to maximize your reenacting experience.
Again, I welcome you to Fredericksburg 1862!
Major General D. H. Cornett
